Well Dispatch told my trainer and I to split they needed a driver on my 2nd day of training so I got a truck and had to follow him back The next day after we slept over night cuz we were both tired. So Dolton GA to IL was needless to say "interesting" I swore I'd never do it and now I regret what happened. I don't blame my trainer he's a very very nice guy and is helpful but I need to fix some things.

It's been a learning experience and my logs need updated because I wasn't able to do them by my self so i'm scared. :( He helped me keep them legal but I need help with them and plan to go to my school for it before I take my turn to another city with the truck. I'm supposed to meet up with him and follow him. I also got lost 100 miles the wrong way trying to get home.

It takes time. Just relax and take your time with the log book. Mistakes happen.

Haha yeah I need to. Sure has been fun so far either way though. I did manage to micro-sleep and saw I was and pulled over. That won't happen again but i shouldnt say never cuz the log stuff i said wouldn't either :\

711 miles, slow day, even with the new regs I still pull a 750 to 790 mile day a couple of times per month legally.

    Whats the problem?

65x11 is 715. If you have a strong pulling 65 mph truck, you can do 715 miles in 11 hours.

i will guess it is a company i know very well, and they have a 60 mph log speed limit. so doing 711 miles will throw a flag up in the log department and they may say he violated the company speed limit.
i believe i know the company, cause it was not uncommon for them to have the trainee and trainer to pick up a truck and trailer that was either abandend or the driver got sick or something like that. and they do not care how much experience the trainee has, they want the truck back to the yard.
i will bet the trucks and trailers were white in color and were from the central illinois area.

So help me understand, you just graduated school and after 2 days with your trainer they gave you a truck? I would just take the truck back to their main terminal, and let them know you need more training......at this point your at a huge liability to the company and your career. If they wont help you, leave the truck there and run (dont walk) to one of the big training companies and get a decent foundation for your career. There are so many things you need to understand, logging will be the least of your problems.

I can see where a person could log up to 770 in a 11 hour day, but 790? Where can you average over 70 mph legally?

Good luck with all that BULL. Anything over 600-650 in 11 hour shift will never fly with the DOT,...... BTDT...............
