After training you are required to go otr for 30 days.

I don't know if I want to get on a dedicated account when I finish otr. There are 2 distribution centers in NY for the company. They have another one in CT for a different company that is also pwned by the dc's in NY. The dedicated runs are getting good miles and usually 1 day home a week.
If you get a dedicated run, take it, as it is usually more of a stable run.. I see you live in Grafton, I use to live in Spfld Ma..

Remember not everyone when training get to drive on snow.
Many train in summer months and never have to drive snow until winter months.

Swift must have taught you to chain and the theory or winter driving.

Just take it easy & if your not comftable driving on snowpack/ice stop n wait.

They show you how to chain, but funny thing I did not have to use chains once on that trip from Salt lake.. I took what I learned growing up in the North East, and put it to practice driving a truck.. Same with ice, no one is an expert on driving on ice.. You take your time, and if it is to unsafe to drive in then you park your truck until it is safe to continue..

Thanks, everyone! All of the advice makes sense. Actually, I may be luckier this way because I get to focus on my backing and driving skills without major complications. I'm dealing with the SE, and the weather was great today; I never put on my jacket.

I think I'll try to stick it out with my dedicated trainer all six weeks. It really is a blessing to be dedicated. I'm at home tonight, and I spent all weekend at home. I can only hope I'll get a dedicated route in the future, and I know my chances are decent just because of the dedicated training I'll be doing.
