Also depends on how the product is loaded and how many different items (or types of items) are on board.

I haul P&G out of a certain St. Louis suburb, and have never been able to get away without scaling at least twice (once, 4 times!). On the other hand, I have also loaded 46,250 in the wagon of all the same commodity and had no problems at all, but it was close.

I've got a '10 Century class with the DD15 engine, so it's a bit heavier than most of our older units.

    For an example.
I drive an International 9400i. With a sprung 53 foot trailer.
    2 150 gal tanks, 72" sleeper.
I can (if loaded correctly) scale out a 46,000 lb load with 3/4 tank of fuel.
I have to do it with water loads every couple of weeks.

That is if you are looking for another actual example.

...and about only loading to the 48' mark. let me just say "HA!" I often get loaded all the way to the doors. As long as you can even out the axle weight. But still... about 44K to 46K is the average.

All I hual are containers, this time of year Aug. til Jan. 65% of our loads are grain related going overseas. The rest of the year it's general freight off all kinds, import/export via containers.

Depends on what state you are in and if you are planning on running IH hwy if you are in TX and you have bought the Over axle over weight permit then you can scale what your frt tires are rated for plus 10 % on drivers and then if you register your trailer for additioal weight then you can go 10 % above 34,000 for a total of 84,000 but not on the interstates you are limited to 12,000 frt axle 34,000 drivers and 34,000 on trailer for 80,000 of you can put 12,000 on frt axle . and tires are rated for that .
