I was wondering what is the age at which a company will consider you too old to hire. Someone that has no experience and will be going to a cdl school. Is there a point that [to a company] it's not worth it?? I realize that there are many drivers in their 60, and 70's driving but how about starting out. Just wonderin'- Liteguy

I was 55 when I got my CDL and started driving...you won't have a problem with your age.

Welcome to the Forum Liteguy! I asked the "age" question several months ago when I joined this board. I'm still here (age 56), I'm still planning to go to driving school, and I'm still planning to have 10-15 years as a driver. Catch my drift? I read one post from a student who said there were 2 60+ year old students in his class and they were doing well. The issues we "not in our 20s" wannabes face are not age issues, they're the same issues faced by younger wannabes.
Issue #1: Doing the legwork, i.e. RESEARCH (which can be done right here in the Forum),
Issue #2: Developing realistic expectations (the experienced drivers here help us with that),
Issue #3: Putting APTITUDE ahead of ATTITUDE!
These are my 3 personal biggees. Stick around, you'll development some of your own. Again, welcome and join in!

The problem is at MY age and EXPERIENCE no one hires us as we refuse to turn a key for wages we were paid back in the 80's! Newbies at any age will and there are thousands of them graduating from schools every year!
