not me, but i'd crawl under there and make sure the heat shield is still attached. if you are not sure, then a dealership would know if one is missing.

since its an SUV, you must have carpeting. then there is a pad under the carpet. sometimes there is a "reflective" foil under the pad which is glued to the floor.

reflective foil
pad
carpet

then the heat shields under the vehicle.............

you might be missing the shield inside of the transmission "hump".......area...

Your problem just about has to be a heater vent up under the dash. there is no way that any of the drive components could be putting heat up in that area. Might you have a big hole in the front cowl and firewall? Cover the vents and stuff a rag in any holes....should solve your problem

yeah. like he says. there are thin "firewalls" in many trucks, so the heat radiates rather easily.

also, even with the heater blower moter turned off, there is constant circulation as you drive down the road, letting that air from the floor vents to hit you. sometimes the heater ducts on the drivers side are tucked way up into the dashboard, amking it next to impossible to get at and re-direct the ducting to another area.

you're lucky you ain't driving a cabover.....talk about heat then.......

You could just keep you vent on "recirc". Then you don't have the air coming in from outside while you are driving.
