Heart Broken Is there a need for a Walk In Clinic at Truckstops

I am a medical examiner here in the Indianapolis area. I perform DOT Class A physicals for a local commecial driving school. My parents were owner operators in the 80s and 90s. So, I do have an appreciation for what you all endure over the road. What do you all think of starting a Walk In Medical Clinic within a truck stop? I think it increases your access to care while away from home. I appreciaate all input either positive or negative.

    Best Regards,

    Maria

Drivers don't feel secure with on the road physicals , especially hundreds of miles from home . What if the physician decides to disqualify a driver ?
A last year Roadside Medical opened clinics at 3 Pilot locations . I just tried to go to the Roadside website . Here's what I found .

Thats been tried and for the most part failed. Now if your talkin a walk in urgent care clinic thats in a truck stop and open to the pubic I can see them making it. But if your just going to do DOT physicals and the like it will never go over IMO.

Probably have better luck putting a regular clinic next to a truck stop. Cause no normal people are going to the truck stop for a checkup but next to one, they wouldn't think anything of it. And if the drivers need anything, they'll see it that there's one right over there and come in.

My vote is a resounding YES !!

If the facility actually provides medical care, and NOT just DOT physicals. There are many times I would have liked to have seen a Doctor for some minor issue. But 80 feet of truck prevents access to MOST facilities.

I used to have a Dentist I seen on a regular basis. But thanks to Arkansas legislature....no more.

Last month I got a little sick, and decided to seek some help. Unhooked my trailer, and headed to the nearest Take Care (Walgreens) Clinic. I was grateful they were there to help me.

Would have been so much simpler if a nearby truck stop had a medical clinic, but that's rarely available.
