LEARNING how to drive a truck is the EASY part bro... AUTO, or MANUAL.... EASY..... The hard part is the TRAILER.... 48's turn unlike 53's and 53's are in my book easier to back than 48's.... The longer the trailer, the LESS correction you'll have in getting back under it when BACKING..... IT's ALL in the trailer...... IF your a student, learning or driving an AUTO truck... I would suggest learning a 9 speed MANUAL also. You'll NEED to know in your future anyways. All the best, Matthew

We'll you dont really have to be the most coordinated guy in the world to dock it either. I myself prefer backing in between TRAILERS vs a WIDE open dock in a HUGE parking lot... lol... You may call that crazy but to me that is easyer. As your backing the trailer the other TRAILER you use as a guide. (ALWAYS) driver side back. Even if it means driving around the parking lot once to move into that position. It's safer, and you can see the trailer go into place. All I can say is DRIVERS side back and GO SLOW... Even if you make others mad who THINK they are Super truckers and CAN do it in 5 sec's.. MAKE em wait! Take your time.... Make it right..... It does take time... And your about to have all the time in the world.... lol... WELCOME to the Industry! Matthew

LOL. Thanks again. I can see myself ruining three trailers trying to back into a dock. Heh, it even gets pretty ugly when I back the lawnmower and cart up

I MYSELF hate towing a SMALLer little trailer with my Garden tractor... I would RATHER push the dam CART than try backing it... The SMALLER the trailer the HARDER you have to work it! But hell, I guess you can practice or master THAT, then you'll be AWESOME with a 53!!!! lol All the best, FILL ME in on updates.... |

I'll let you know how things go. I just need to get my feet a bit wet. I'm 16 so I have some time. I'd like to learn soon.

16 and already driving a Kw? Either you're good old country folk like myself or who ever is letting you drive on the big road is crazy! To many DOT out anymore.... I know in OHIO here where I am they are closing most all scales except inter bound. Most all the Mr. DOT's are mobile now do to this. I dont think I've ever seen Ohio as bad as this in the past 5 years! Bears and DOT everywhere... U can expect to see em every 5-10 miles in places. All the best, Matt
