Mack your slipping again. Re-read my post. That is what I typed. One more lane would be the restricted lane. Remember this guy is snoozing in the middle lane. You are not suppose to pass on the right, so if I pass him on the left.

Besides, why not pass him on the right? If someone is holding up the middle lane, and the right lane happens be wide open, go ahead.

Not saying I don't do it, but you can get a ticket for passing on the right.

| Ok, I'm going to say some of the same things. You are being passed on both sides because you are going slower than the flow of traffic. Trucks are usually restricted from the far left lane on a 3 lane interstate. SO, if you are being passed on both sides, and a truck is risking a ticket being in that left lane, and a truck is risking a ticket by passing you on the right, it is because you are going slower than everyone else. It scares me when it happens to me, even when I am in my truck. The only persons driving I trust other than my own, is my husbands. Either speed up or get to the right one lane. I usually drive in the right lane and let everyone pass me because I am usually within the posted speed limit by 5mph. Less stressful that way and if I need to pass, I speed up get around the slowmo, get back into the right lane, and resume my travel speed. People expect you will be going slower in the right lane, they don't expect it when you are in any other lane. |

| Or, maybe just a moron. This week, while traveling I-85 through Charlotte, NC (three lane interstate) I approached a "center lane sissy" who was sporting a DO NOT PASS ON RIGHT sign on the trailer door. I think it was US Express. There he was, holding up the entire interstate while displaying a safety sign instructing his fellow motorist that passing on the right was an unsafe act, yet with nothing to hamper him from moving to the right, he poked along in the center lane forcing other trucks to pass him on the right. Granted, I like the center lane, as well. There is less interference in that lane. However, I will move right if I am holding up faster traffic. During gridlock, the "slower traffic keep right" rule has no effect. We ain't going anywhere, anyway. It don't matter which lane you're parked in. |

| To clear up a possible misconception here, those signs are to inform the general public that passing on the right is an unsafe act when the truck is about to swing wide to make a right hand turn, although one would think that you shouldn't have to tell poeple things like that.

| Driving in East Europe is easy(especially in Russia).Tipical highway is 1 or 2 lane only.If its 1 lane(dividers even on a 2 lanes doesnt exist) You pass on a oncoming traffic lane(dangerous but no choice is given). You are allowed to pass 1 car/truck at a time.2 lane highway:slow traffic always stays on the right lane,if not You flash Your lights and the car goes to the right(would cars go to the right if You do it here???). If somebody drives slow in a left lane eventually one of the cars will cut it and the driver will be tought which lane is to drive(nobody wants to go to the hospital, may be thats why there are so many organized drivers there?) The same thing in South Africa
