| Mean Trucker? Hello All. I have a question. Yesterday I was driving on 95 towards NJ from Philadelphia. There was construction and the trucker waved me in front of him during a lane merge. I had construction to my right and slow moving traffic moving w/ me on my left. I glanced in my rear view and all I saw was grill. The trucker bumped me. I thought it was an accident. But then he continued to PUSH my tiny Kia. He pushed my car and I couldn't get away. There was a car in front of me couldn't excel, and construction to my right and traffic on my left. I waited until the end of the construction, people on the left in the cars were honking and looked almost as shocked as I was. The construction lasted maybe 100-200 yards? And he pushed me the entire way. My back bumper has holes in it from bolts or something, in several places. This was no accident. So I beg any trucker out there, I really need to know, is this some sort of trucker game? I did not cut the trucker off. I would never do that. He WAVED me in front of him. It was totally amicable. It was frightening. When the construction was done I pulled over to get away from the trucker and he just drove away. I never saw a plate, because it was firmly against my rear bumper. When he drove away I was crying hysterically. Now I feel like i've got the mark of something on my car. It's very peculiar. In telling this story to friends, I feel as if it's completely unbelieveable. I've never heard of such a thing and it's completely freaking me out. Please advise. Is this something truckers do for kicks? Thanks. |

| If there is such a "game" i'm not aware of it. There are ROUGE truckers,as there are ROUGE 4 wheelers. Are you sure he waved you to go? Maybe there was some sort of a miscommunication? Too bad no one got his truck number & company.

| Mean truckers I am 100% positive he waved. Traffic was at a stand still while it funneled into one lane. He stopped to let me in, totally waved, I waved back. I had my blinker on. He gave me plenty of room to merge. I think I'm suffering some sort of post traumatic stress disorder. I cannot stop thinking about what has happened. |

| Do what? No it's not a game. What probably happened, I wasn't there. Your car disappeared under his hood, and the driver did not see you make the move (or forgot about you) after motioning you over. You did not describe the truck, so it is hard to say. But it does happen, even with the best of drivers. Never cut directly in front of a truck for this reason, allow space to open up first, this allows you to be far enough forward, that the driver can see you over his hood. Trucks have numerous "blind" spots. Even in the front. What you should have done: Manuever slightly to the left, placing yourself in the drivers field of view. |

| That's probably what happened,I agree, Although I have a hard time thinking how small that car is and just a little damage. I could never be that lucky if that was me. |

| Thanks for your thoughts. I understand that it might be kinda hard to believe that this happened on purpose. I felt like I was in a horror movie. However, he saw me. It wasn't even at an odd time of day. He saw me, waved. We waved. Traffic was merging. I did not cut anyone off. I'm not a driver like that. It was a horrorfying experience. He could've wrecked my bumper but didn't. |

| I agree about the losing you...a truck is sooo easily identifiable that a driver would be committing career suicide to do something like this. Why did you not get info on this guy? License plate, truck #, Company name, etc.... The fact you had such little damage is a testament to you not having applied your brakes..... Was it a truck like this.... Or like this?? ![]() K |

| What color was it? Do you remember any name or lettering on the truck or trailer? Whenever something like this happens, you have to get as much information as possible. You could have also called 911 while he was pushing you.

| While I understand the dilemma here. I've read enough!!I also understand that NO answer we give you that might explain what happened and why, will be suficient. I have been online since AOL 1.0 and Netscape 1.0. Before that, we used telnet. I've seen your type of behavior, and if you really expect anyone to come straight out and say that this was an intentional act on the part of the driver. We can not we were not there. Every person here has tried to give you a plausible explaination as to how it could have happened "accidentally". You have refused to acknowledge any of the comments, other than to say he waved, you waved. The fact is you've done nothing, but tell friends and come on this board to seek sympathy. When you should have been dialing 911. The fact is the majority of truck drivers keep the line tight in such situations to prevent "cut ins" that can cause an unseen accident, in the blind spot. You refer to those drivers as rude, all the while, they are trying to prevent an "unseen" accident. The fact is this driver (by your own admission) maintained a "safe" enough distance, to prevent you from hitting the vehicle in front of you...very strange unless he could see that vehicle over his hood, and not yours, and was maintaining a safe distance to the car that he thought was directly in front of him. The fact is With every spotlight/camara aimed at truck drivers today. I find it very hard to believe that "other" drivers were blowing their horns...and no one bothered to call 911. Must not have been that important of a deal, or maybe they were to busy. I'm tired now and I've said all I am going to say regarding this matter. While you have my sympathy, you will not get me to state that is was intentional on the other drivers part. |
