It was funny watching him darting and ducking trying to avoid the barrels and my trailer. Scared the snot out of him.
Given the fact we all drive small cars and pickups and that is all I drive anymore, we can all relate to what you say, but I still consider myself a part of the safe community, even though I may screw up on occasion.

Yes, we all do and we all hope we are lucky enough to escape any incidents and so called accidents.

Yeah, I have to say sometimes you have to give the benefit of the doubt. Last Sat, I was driving in a city I barely ever go. I ended up passing some cars, and I got squeezed over, (I was in a 4 wheeler) I had missed the sign that the lane closes, I felt like a doofus for making those other drivers have to move over. Luckily the lane to my left was open, and I was able to move over and let us both have some room. I am pretty sure I ticked them off, but I just missed the sign and didn't know the area.

LOL this part about not knowing the area......
I have been OTR for 5 years and still find myself weekly going to places that I have never been (companies) sure generally you probably have been on the Interstate before but once you leave the Interstate its a new ball game.....

Ya that gets to me....
Back when I drove for Schneider I had "2" cars do this to me... now I didn't have a 500 cat so there was no speeding up but more like lets see what develops here.... the two cars started to speed up and I knew there was no way they was going to make it.. Sure enough I don't see how the first car didn't go barrel smashing... He hit his breaks and smoked them the second car started to get all squirrely he hit them so hard.. I laughed for about an hour after that

what possesses people to do such ignorant things is beyond me????????
Just to get in front of a truck or another car? knowing they aren't really going to get threw there any faster becuase there is traffic in front of the person they just passed...... Risking their life and others just to gain .10 of sec? Stupid... not Ignorant but just plain STUPID

Or how about the ones that dawdle, and HAVE to speed up when they see a truck passing them. So you dutifully pull in behind them again, only to have them slow down again... and so the game continues.

Or, the ones that come flying by you, and slow down immediately they pull into your lane ahead of you...

Ya, I had a fast truck before with my last job and when I was a O/O but now as of last week I have a 68Mph truck.... I guess I am going to have to deal with this crap again.......

I don't know about you but it does raise my stress level up a little with a slower truck dealing with such issues... I find myself having to take a few deep breathes and calming myself down LOL...

Everyone misses now and then and that is why we need to be more aware of the realities of the highway. By being alert and giving consideration, it makes the highway much safer for all. What I hate is those who just will not let you in no matter what and you have to take it away from them.

I turned onto a main boulevard that the lane I turned into ended two blocks ahead. However, I could not just turn into the lane I needed to be in and I approached a light controlled intersection while the light was changing from Red to Green. Since I was moving, I expected to accelerate to a safe speed and merge with no problem, but the back side of a mule stomped the accelerator of the line and tried to force me out.

Well, I just took it away from him and ticked him off and I did not feel a bit bad for it, but it really made me angry that this person would endanger other lives over his stupidity.

That is the world we live in these days.

Well I dunno if you all have herd of this but I read about a month ago something about a truck only lane on I70 being built...

Now they said "only" a study of this is being done and didn't mention what three states the trial would be but I would expect IL,IN,OH do to the terrain and cost.... If this ever happens would be a step forward in the right direction for a change.....

truck only lane

a truck only lane would be great, however i do not see that being abided by. autos use the truck lanes in the mountains. some just do not understand or even pay attention to the signs.

Out in here in Los Angeles on the N5 west of the 710. It's been a couple year. Where they now let you use all lanes beyond this point. There use to be a sign stating this just before this point. Due to construction that sign is not there. It's so that trucker's don't have to more over at the last moment before the N101 / N5 / W10 split.
Now some trucker's have been running in the #2 from the left before this point. The DOT and Polar Bear's will slap you for it.

Even with truck lane, autos will use it like another lane. They shouldn't but they use it for passing. Sometimes they just don't move back over has soon has they pass.
