That will get their paper work looked at as every body knows that the industry itself DOES NOT lend to logging legal. The ranchers do not care in the slightest about DOT regs. This I know from experience. All they care about is getting their cattle where they want them when they want them there. If you can't do that, and haul over weight by 20K and run on 4 hrs of sleep a night, they will find some one that will. I was referring to the DOT crawling under a bull rack in the inspection lane.

So far, hubby hasn't been too overweight, but we also bought the Interstate permit, to cut drive time here in NE. And yeah, I have a picture in my head of them in gas masks crawling under the truck, maybe even the full suits. I'm sure that they don't pull them in that often. |

| Well I think you came here to cause trouble and are nothing but a trouble maker You probably won't live to graduate college. However just remember that brake lights don't always work and SOME drivers CAN turn them off, so there is NOTHING for you to see except the ICC bumper as it crushes your car and puts the engine in your lap crushing you like a bug on a windshield. And IF you live, the wheelchair that you will be sitting in sure won't be able to tailgate anything faster than another wheelchair. |

| I don't mind the "drafting" cars behind me as much as I mind the ones who follow, about 100 feet back, with their BLINDING HALOGEN HIGH-BEAMS ON!!!! Grrrr... That is my all-time pet peeve! Just as bad are the idiots (and I count many truckers among these) who feel the need to run with their high output fog lamps blazing away, even in perfectly clear weather. *sigh* okay, grump over. |

| I hate it when someone is on my arse. I have to slow down miles before my turn, pull over and almost come to a complete stop for some of these people to get around me. If I'm making a right hand turn for instance, the tail end of my single unit truck will wipe anyone else in the other lane off the road. It's not hard to time the vehicles coming towards me to make the turns but the ones on my tail make for a very difficult day. We run fast and hard rurally to pick up cotton modules in the fields so that means shifting and turning like crazy all day long. One tailgater can hold up all of us by several minutes. Still thinking of taking a module truck and our truck to the local school...... I want these kids to see what we can't see and also see how far those tail ends go over into the next lane when we turn.

| This thread has been on the board for sometime now. Almost every professional driver has told him it's not a safe thing to do. But he tries to comes back and say that he"s a professossional drafter and has a much better braking sysytem than those trucks do. Now just about all the drivers told him that it's not safe and for some reason I can't understand why he's still trying to justify a stupid maneuver. It wouldn't do any good to go into the mechanics of the situtions and I'm not sure if it would do any good showing the statistics of the inexperience driver trying to save a few pennys. He may believe he's an experience drafter but on the highwat he's very inexperience and a hazard. The scenarios are endless of what can happen and 9 times out of 10 they do not come out good. Not fot the truck but fot the idiot that thinks risking his live and others for a couple of peeies of fuel is worth it. If I see you l''ll be more than hapy to give you a dollor if you'll back down far enough were I can see you in my mirrors. If not we can place "EXPERIENCE TRUCK DRAFTER" on you Tombstone. Just get smart kid. |
