| Favorite and least favorite stretches on interstate to drive on? Kinda had to ask, what stretches of interstate are your favorite to do (wheather it be because of scenery, good driving conditions, etc) and which ones do you absolutly dread? |

| Favs: Scenery is great along I-84 along the Columbia River Gorge in OR, I-15 thru the Virgin River Gorge in AZ; I-25 from Las Cruces to Albq---easy driving/no traffic. Un'favs: I-17 Phx to Flag--was once a favorite, now too much traffic; I-15 Vegas to L.A.---too much construction & traffic, I-5 N. CA to Seattle---scenic but lots of traffic for escaping CA-ites, Worst for bad weather: I-80 Sac to SLC, bad snow storms hit quickly and many deer hits along that stretch; and of course I-84 thru Cabbage in OR |

| Interstates I don't like, I-88 in Illinois, so boring except for a landfill with gas flares. I-65 from Indy to Crown Point, lots of pinch points with poor visibility, winter storms from lake effect lead to deadly icing in minutes, too many accidents and too many fatalities including truckers. I don't mind mountains much, the scenery is a good trade-off for the difficulties. I 90 from Austin, MN to the SD border, treacherous in the winter, lots of wind, lots of direction changes, lots off rough road, and the weather can change in moments at night. Only good thing is it has much less traffic than I-80 through IA. My favorite is probably I-94 through WI, around Milwaukee to the IL border, it is six lanes with no speed limit difference for trucks, I have been in snowstorms on it and it didn't feel as slippery as 90 in MN, west of Milwaukee, it has pretty scenery and relatively easy driving. No left lane nonsense, either. I-35 through IA, the flattest road in IA north of Des Moines, south, it negotiates lots of hills and river valleys and does it well. I-29 from Council Bluffs, IA to Sioux City, IA. Runs through the Missouri River valley and is flat with the bluffs visible in the distance. These roads stand out for me, there are probably others I would like or dislike more, I hate to comment on roads I haven't driven more than once, and I usually run mid west. |

| Favorites: I26 (US23),I68 are a beautiful drives, as long as you're not heavy, I really enjoy going through the gorge (heavy or light), that's a really pretty drive (esp eastbound right at sunrise). I84 along the columbia river (no question), I10 coming into CA (the windfarm, whatta sight). I80 across Donner (except winter, even though its still pretty up there). |

| Favorite? The Brooklyn-Queens Expwy in NY. Lots of wild looking highway related feats of engineering to look at, like all the bridges coming across. Least favorite? The southern half of the New Jersey Turnpike. BORING!!!

| Well, you gotta admit there's some pretty cool stuff to look at, like that terraced section near the Statue of Liberty. Never saw a setup like that before my first trip to New York. I've never been out west where the real scenery apparently is.

The more of that 'scenery' I see, the more I realize all I wanna see now is my street, with my house at the end of it. |
