One of these guys/gals could trip/stumble at any time, and I would like to increase my chances of being able to stop.

To a point someone else made, it infuriates me more to see a truck driver tailgating and making idiotic passes than when I see a 4 wheeler do it. I had and England driver just two days ago pull out and try to pass me in a construction area as the lanes were merging into one. Why? I guess because I was leaving too much of a safe distance between me and the other vehicle. Well, needless to say, she didn't make it passed me before running out of room and sent a Schneider egg flying before getting stopped.

The "idiot" ratio on the highways just keeps increasing.
These are my favorite kinds of idiots. I've seen this happen too many times to count.

Watching a driver on TV the other day (Alaska driving) he put it in terms that I can relate to. When there is only room for 1 truck, and you decide to make a stupid move, the shoulder is all yours. I'm keeping my rig on the road.

My peeve right now among hundreds of other ones.... is when a truck pulls up to a 4 way stop WITH SIGNAL ON to make a right turn. And yes it is visible!
WHY is it that the 4 wheelers a few cars back will look at you, and when the others a head of them pull thru the intersection they run right up into the space that was just left that I needed for turning????????????? Are 4 wheelers that brain dead?????????????????????? Apparently so. Only about 1 in 10 seem to be on the ball at this particular intersection I have to go thru 3 times a day.
I think I gave another one a very valuable lesson on pulling past the white line even as I was turning left thru this same intersection. I came the closest to running over a hood that I ever have. And yeah, he backed up quickly. Only mere inches to spare.

I see many many bus drivers doing very dangerous things as well. For example pulling out right in front of traffic with a load of kids. Sure glad I don't have kids to ride the bus. If I did and their driver did some of the stuff I've seen he would have an ear full that he would remember for a long time to come.
I just can't believe a bus driver would be that careless with a load of kids.

What you do is report the driver. Get their bus # and tell their boss the situation.
Sometimes if things are chaotic on the bus and we (the driver) is pressed for time we can make mistakes. Driving a bus you are basically multitasking at all times.

Hat's off to you driving a school bus. I think I'd go nuts lol. I think I already posted this somewhere here, but several months back was heading into a very, very narrow curve, 2 lane, and we have to keep our wheels on the side as it is. Here comes this school bus driving way too fast, heading towards me and partially on my side of the road. It ran me off most the way, and the thing that bothers me most is it happened so fast, I never got the name of the school on the side

I don't know exactly how this would be accomplished, but it would be nice to have something in movie format shot from the drivers perspective (through the windshield of a big rig) that each person getting their license has to watch, so that they could understand what you all go through everyday. *I know that I'm dreaming on this one!*

But honestly, I think that common courtesy has gone completely out the window these days. There is no respect for the other driver anymore, 4 wheeler or otherwise. I see people here who refuse to move over for rescue and fire and it burns me to no end!!! What if it was them that they were rushing to save? Wouldn't they want people to move out of the way so that the squad could get to them quickly?

I try my best to stay back in the turn lane, when I see a truck trying to make a sharp right turn on a narrow street, I stay back far enough when following a truck that he/she can safely see me in the mirrors, and if he/she has the blinker going, I stay behind the truck so that if he needs to make a wide turn, he doesn't have to worry about me sneaking up on his drivers side to get around him.

I'm like the rest of you and honestly don't understand what the big hurry is to get where ever they are going. Life is too short, to cause an accident, take a life or cost someone their job.

Thank you for doing your part helping us out.

I think that all people for whatever reasons drive recklessly on the roadways one time or another in their lifetime. So, there is only one thing to consider when driving "that we are all made of flesh and bones". I think that 2-wheelers, 4-wheelers, 18 wheelers all need to put safety first when behind the wheel or handlebars. No need to point steering wheels! LOL
