Being from New Zealand I see alot of people talking about DAC & OTR what are these please, also do you guys& Gals have to run log books ?

OTR is over the road, basically long haul trucking.
DAC is an expanded driving record. It lists not only your driving, but your employer can list any other information that they choose to about you.

Its a bit bigger than that I think! But you would get to see the Southern Alps, the Tasman Sea, the Pacific Ocean and the Cook Straits all in one day!
