| You know, it just occured to me.... You could try contacting the tractor manufacturers and see if they have any special info on gaining access to a wrecked rig. I do know that certain Volvo rigs have windsheild glass that is not glued in place and can be kicked out in the event of a rollover (the VT 880 for example). At the very least, they could provide you with info as to the material used to manufacture the cab. That way you could figure out the most efficient way of gaining access. I know it isn't much, just brainstorming.  |

| i am also an emt and soon to be civilian truck driver (do it in the army) and the best advise on loads is only worry if you see placards, on the trailer or on a package if its under the reportable quantity (and there for no required for the trailer to be placarded). the number one thing when emergency personnel need to remember is that leaking fuel is leaking fuel and follow your scene safety precautions and protocols. just like cars every rig has paperwork and other stuff in different locations except hazmat BOL (bills of landing) those are always in the driver side pocket when there driving or on the seat if not in the pocket when there stoped. but the crash might dislodge them.
