Nope!
Being a Big truck driver only qualifies you as being
SEMI-Crazy.

If you enjoy the lifestyle, well,.................. that might qualify as full-blown crazy.

Anyone else think we should go more toward Nuclear??? It requires Water, Storage for the Waste, and a guy running a laptop.

Sure I believe nuclear is the way to go as long as they change a few stupid moves they want to make on storing the waste. I think that there should be tons of money sent to the resaearch labs to continue with the fusion reactors which are just as safe as solar power.

The sad thing is............... I do enjoy the lifestyle very well.
Especially where I work now. I have the excellent balance of driving and hometime. most trips are out and back the same day. The lognest we are out on a trip is 2 days. Unless you were like Tom and I. We got stranded in Orlando, FL for 4 days. Coincidently in the nicest hotel in the area. Plus all meals paid. The only downfall was the bar tab was on us.

I, too, think there is a future for nuclear energy. I've been reading a lot lately about how researchers all over the world are experimenting with atom smashers to alter the atomic structure of radioactive isotopes to change them into harmless materials. With some (read: lots) money invested into this research, I think we can develop a safe way to use nuclear energy.

It's all in how...

You handle the nuclear reactors. Safety settings, regular maintenance etc. Our US Navy has been safely operating on nuclear power since before I was born. That said, the powers that be...the NRC would probably never go for it.

Problem is with where to store the waste. I'm voting for storing it inside the beltway, DOT headquarters would be a good place. Lord knows it's not being used by any intelligent lifeforms now.

Word on the street from a friend who is an operator at Commanche Peak power plant is that the NRC in general are very anti nuke. Go figger.
