Is trucking the only career with pushy recuiters?

I find it an oddity that trucking recuiters actually get pushy and call people at home on a daily basis(or is that only JB hunt).

I can't really think of any other careers where the employers are overly interested in getting you the work.

In my experience an interview is desperate process in which you fight tooth and nail to prove your right for the company.

Well, you also find this in the form of Jehovah's Witnesses and most manner of salesmen.

commision! I am not sure if correct but I would believe that would be the answer. Unless your question is refering to why they need to recruit so much. They need truckers. I don't have the numbers, but I'm sure they're on this forum somewhere, the rate of turnover.

It reminds me of telemarketers!

I know one good way to get rid of such people for good, but I can't say publicly. It involves being obscene on the phone.

I've told JB Hunt that I was dead and they still call back.

Well far as the civilian world goes I would say no ...

But the Military sure can match them... But its not an easy job to get someday to risk their life even if it for a good cause....

Something I have found out is usually the real pushy recruiters are from companies who "usually" treat their drivers bad..... or very low pay....

The good ones usually have a waiting list.....

Real estate agents can be this bad. Any sales people or telemarketers are bad - newspapers around here call forever.

Only headhunters (way high up high end profile jobs) are as bad as this. I've never seen or heard of recruiters being this way up here, though.

Yeah, I can attest to the military recruiters. I was already in the Marine Corps for about 8 months when I got a call from my father one day. He told me that the Navy, and Army had been calling trying to recruit me. Even after he told them I was already in the Corps, they said to give them a call once my contract was up.
