LOL.....(grin)

Back in my company driver days, I drove both a cabover Mack, as well as a conventional Mack. Sufice it to say, these days I'd be more privy to owning a Freightshaker than a mack LOL.

I've owned Both Pete and Kenworth. To me, there is no other option. JMO

(however back in the day, Mack was a real player in the class 8 market, just not in the last couplle of decades.)

Mack vs Pete, is like hamburger vs filet filet mignon.

I have gotten the Shell Super rigs calender for going on 20 years, and I've yet to see a Mack make it in.....(grins)

I drove Petes Volvos and Freightliners while running team. Room wiser goes Volvo Freightliner then Pete Ride Volvlo Freightliner then Pete . Sorry Pete lovers you have been hoodwinked. You never sit in a Pete you put the SOB on if you are over 5-10 and I am 6-6 come on a spilt mattress for an upper bunk give us a break this is the 21th century. Closet space I drove a 58 in mid roof Century that had more storage than a 70 in Ultra sleeper does. Pete gets by on rep alone and even that is slipping the 389 is JUNK from everyone I talk to.

If the old Petes get by on rep alone ,I reckon thats good enough for me and a bunch of other rooster cruisers too....You should go read ALL of the thread"Tell Me About Volvos" on here.It goes back to the old saying,"You can't polish a turd" that I am SO fond of using and a Volvo is the biggest turd in the pond.Thats my opinion and I'll stick to it

It sure is easy to decifer the company truck drivers in this thread from those who've actually owned a 379 with a 63" standup.

A guy gets what he pays for. Used truck prices will back me up on this.

I will throw you company truck drivers a bone here though - I too never saw the Peterbilt "light" as a company driver, until I started driving them, then owning.

And I've driven most every make of truck there is, both cabover as well as conventional.

Years ago, Kenworth had the marketing slogan of the milenium. - "you could buy something else, but then you'd have to drive it.

Soooooooooo true...

You called that right....I asked a dude in another thread who was putting Volvos over Petes when the last time he saw an '84 Volvo bring over 20 grand...You get what you pay for and I pay the money when I can and I'll walk and drag a kids little red wagon behind me when I can't.'Nuff said

I have been really thinking O/O lately. (Ya, I am crazy, I know! But thats different thread) As I have been looking, I am still an American Man! I love the 379's looks. I love the 379's ride. It just seem so cramp. You can reach and touch the other side. Its just not right. And most the sleepers are tiny. It seems rare to find a good standup with lots of OTR room to spead out. Same goes for the W9. I so love the look and feel, but becouse I want to be a gypsy, I shy away from them for more space. Take that on with the extra dollar signs to go with something "blah" when it comes to fuel economy, and I almost dont consider them. I wish I could change my own mine. 379 "IS" the American Trucker.

Wait around a bit and IF (lol) this fuel stays the same or raises much more you'll have your pick of any make model and year of truck your little heart might desire.I'd go for the Pete tho'.That way if you ended up to broke to run it, it would still look good pulled up next to the barn.lol
