I like Kentucky personally. The cost of living in most areas is extremely low compared to the rest of the country, and the people are like the old southerners you probably grew up around. I love the people there. Of course like anywhere wages reflect the lower cost of living. But unlike so many places you can actually live on what the local markets support.
Now we're talkin'

We had thunder snow here during the Super Bowl. Missed some of the commercials checking out what was happening out there.

I'm not so sure I could live in the desert. Although New Mexico is gorgeous. I've been to Phoenix, but it's been a long time.

Well, here we are again a month later, into the thread. Last weekend I left the frigid cold of Wisconsin, for a 2 dropper in Miami. Below zero here, then 80+ degrees in South Florida 2 days later. Hmmm. 2 days later yet, I'm back in the arctic.

As far south as Atlanta was 'cold'. Are you SURE you still wanna get outta Florida?!?!?!?

I know it's a little hard to understand, and there are times when I think I must be crazy, but I have a feeling the falls and springs will more than make up for the cold winters. Besides, I know people here, I can always come back every now and again.

I live in the las vegas desert. Moved here three years ago from Kansas and I actually am missing the winter seasons. The dry heat here gets to be so miserable after a while and is very monotinous kinda fells like I'm in that movie with Bill Murray, Groundhog day LOL except with a hot desert environment. same thing every day, no clouds and bright sun in your eyes no matter which direction you face. And in the 120+ degree summers the wind is just a furnace blasting heat. Although it did actually snow here two years ago about 1 inch. It was funny watching everybody on sunrise mountain with there sleds that they bought from the local walmart, sledding down the lightly blanketed rocks for the two hours that it lasted. ended up being around 75 degrees later on during the day.

If you've had enough of hot summers, DON'T consider moving to Missouri! We definitely have the 4 seasons here!

I can deal with some heat, but the humidity here is horrible. You can stand still and sweat like a field animal. I'll tell you one thing though, it sure cuts down on the wrinkles. Not having to run heat in the winter, makes a big difference. When I tell people I'm almost 50 they say, "liar!"
