| Anyway... back to the topic on hand.. I saw a awesome FedEx huge bunk yesterday hauling old muscle cars to this place in Little Rock. Was a niiiice W-9. Really would like to take a few hundred thousand mile trip in that truck.

When you wash your car at home, where does the soap and water go? That's greywater. When you wash the family dog in the front yard, where does the soapy doggy water go? More greywater. |

| Wasn't a bad Rig! I owned this outfit, following the NASCAR tour for almost 3 years. Was a great way to travel. The sleeper was a 16' Box including a sleeper sofa(queen sized bed) Dinnette (folded to a bed) kitchenette with sink, cooktop, refrig, & microwave, and a complete bathroom with fullsized shower. Also had a 20" flatscreen, dvd player, satelite dish, and over the cab bunk. Great for specific hauling needs, but with the tractor length being 32' Bumper to Bumper, not very pracical for dock backing. Still, I took my shot and had a blast while I had the opportunity. Have to try things out before you can say anything bout em. |

at any rate I'm here to ask a question. I'm looking at getting into the industry as a career change, but I'm also an RV'er. I don't think I want to buy brand new, but as I'm used to the RV, an ARI Legacy sleeper really appeals to me, but is it worth it? Really? I might consider a new International 9400i w/ a used ARI Legacy, is this something worth considering? with toilet/shower/cooking and an APU, I'd have no reason to leave the truck except to fuel The ARI site says you save money, but they are trying to sell their product. | They are so heavy and long that they do not work well for general freight hauling. Most of the stretched out big trucks are hauling light freight as in household goods and trade shows. Factor in the costs of a new sleeper box and I am sure your investment in the truck will double in many cases. I suppose if your planning on living in it year round you could consider the monthly payments as a mortgage while you try to stay busy making money. To each their own I guess.

but the stretch and increase in wheelbase bothered me. If I can cram in a small reefer and TV in a standard factory hi rise sleeper I guess that could be enough. I recently lost my job/career as my company (Airlne) went under, I'm taking the next year to get this together, do lot's of research etc, and at the end of it all hopefully be an owner/operator with no loan on the truck. Friend of mine that sold her car dealership told me if you can go into business with NO debt, you have half the battle won. Dan |
