My husband isn't missing--the guy who owned the truck can't be found. Sorry I didn't make that clear. He's putting ads in our local Pocono Mountain paper hiring truckers and then doesn't pay. He has a NY cell number and that's all I know, but I did put a discussion forum message in our local paper to warn other drivers. Thanks for caring!!

re: smokey the bear

I thought of that but wasn't sure we could do that. I know my husband has been hauling waste and they sure get picked on and would be great to have it turned on to someone else, especially someone that doesn't deserve to be on the road. Thanks for the info!! Never had this happen and of all times we're about to lose our home to foreclosure, and was looking forward to the money this guy was saying Steven would make--oh a $1000/wk. Yeah, right?!!

Have you went to the newspaper they might have some info.on him.If not tell them what he is doing. You could find some one to answer his ad then get him might get the law to help because this sounds a little fishy maybe the loads are illegal or something in the trailer

Oh man this really sucks if it is true. It seems a little strange though. But then there is always some jerk out there looking to make a fast buck. Why don't you get in touch with your state DOT and see if they might be interested in looking into this guy.

Jeeze, this just blows me away. Good luck to you.

i know this is a hard lesson learned, but i have never worked for anyone that i haven't gotten all my money from before i turned my truck in. i hope things get better for you, might want to check with some of the larger companies. not the real big ones, maybe a company with around 100 trucks or so, things are usually a little bit more stable with a company like that, and they'll usually have some benefits also.
