Graduated yesterday and now have my CDL

I have been at a CDL school the last 4 weeks in Malden, Missouri and finally graduated and got my class A.
From what driving I did in school I now have a new respect for truckers out on the roads and have a better Idea of what they put up with when it comes to the 4-wheelers. Its strange how you can be driving the biggest vehicles on the highway and some motorist act as if they never saw you when they decide to pull out on the highway or the rudeness they show when their stupidity fails to let them know that the big trucks have to make such wide turns.
Now if I can just find work. I will be happy because it cant be any worse than working in a factory, or at least that is how I see it. I have a better attitude about trucking and I think I will do ok with it once I get some actual experience with trucking. I may have to settle for a not-so-great company at first but at least it will give me time behind the wheel to apply for better jobs. Hopefully flatbed one day.

Well being in the mid west, you have lots of options. Schneider, Crete, W/S and Averitt are good options. There is one west coast company that has a mid west operation going on. Check out Raider out of texas. Good luck and let us know who you go to work for. Oh, check out USF Glenn More.

Those are all good companies but I have a misdemeanor possession charge on my record which dates back to 2004 so right now only a select few are willing to consider me. When I get the charge 5-7 years behind me or get a year experience behind the wheel maybe then the possession charge will look a little less important.
I'll chime in on who I go to work for just as soon as I get a job which I dont figure will be too long because there is a couple of local companies that I dont believe will hold the charge against me.
