I don't thinks it's 99%. I'm looking at getting a Kawasaki KLR, reading through most of Kawasaki's information, just about all of the street bikes are water cooled.

Advice to Skooter from a Biker

1. Grow some thicker skin.
2. Practice patience.
3. Always place safety over convenience.
4. Shut up and ride.

Im a motorcycle rider as well. I don't have a problem with bikers, most of them. However it seems to be the guys on the crotch rockets that I have issues with. Just as I see lots of people in cages cutting us truckers off, bikers do it with even less care it seems sometimes. Last week, a guy on a rocket came out of nowhere an zipped right into my lane and they just take the interstate like an obstacle course. One wrong move, one bad turn on a tar snake or whatever and they are down on the ground.

Another thing too is that some riders don't have experience with riding in order to correctly manuever the bike. Going fast is NOT the main factor in buying a bike. What I seem to see out there is riding for speed and for thrills and less riding for enjoyment and safety. This isn't a problem I see with most biekrs, but it seems to be the issue with those that ride, leaving their brains at home. I ride with a constant thought of "what if"...while they ride with a thought of "wooohoooo!"

What is the problem drivers have with bikes traveling slowly down the breakdown lane to get past a back-up?

I also have a PA carry permit.

I'm guessing some of you ride Harleys, so maybe I'm telling you something you already know. A Harley is air-cooled. So I can't sit in a traffic jam and bop along at walking speed for a few miles. The bike overheats. .

First off I want to say it is unsafe to ride in the E lane in a back up. That's why it's called an Emergency lane. Everyone wants to get out of the back up. Those who run the E lane bottle neck the real problem so everyone has to suffer from your stupidity. If you run the E lane for ANY reason in a back up, someone has to let you in. I have and will continue to block the E lane.

Secondly, your comment about you have a PA carry permit means nothing to me. If you skin your smoke wagon, you better use it. You just want to talk about it. You say your not a 1%er but, you want to talk smack like one.

Third and final, You need to worry more about your oil pressure than overheating. How about running surface roads in known problem areas. If you logged a lot of saddle hours, you should know where they are at. You have a computer, try a TRIP PLAN. OR....Did you ever think about shutting it off? .......Probably not, you want to shot someone for some strange reason. LOL, I AM NOW AFRAID Of BIKERS WITH ANTENNAS! I may even post a thread to share my fear.

It is also illegal for a trucker to block or restrict lanes using his truck alone or in cooperation with another truck.

I don't think anyone has a problem with any certain type of vehicle, always certain drivers of said vehicle. There are rude truck drivers, rude 4-wheelers, rude motorcyclers.

That's very true. Why bikers are not really liked by truckers is that they have no size or inertia and can change lanes, accerelate, stop, on a dime---if in front of a big truck can be disasterous! I had a bike and just like those little small profile 4-wheelers, a bike tends to make people drive them like toys, in & out, because 'they can!'
And as stated before, in CA they are going in/out bumper-to-bumper traffic, and a single last minute lane change or opening a car door to pour out an old cup of coffee can wipe them out! CA is NUTS!!
