If a trucker let's a 4-wheeler onto the interstate.....

he will have slowed down or moved into the left lane. After you ,the car driver, are safely on the road, he would like to get back into the right lane. I don't think every driver out there is aware of this??? Anything you,the car driver, can do to facilitate this movement would be most appreciated by the truck drivers of America. Stepping on the gas peddle would be one option. Slowing down ,if you are particularly timid, and signaling when it's safe for the truck to move back in front of you by flashing your lights would be another.

LOL keep wishing my friend.. people like this could care less and are driving in their own little world, oblivious to what they "should" do... I still say 30 sec info commercials on TV being aired at random times of the day would help prevent such ignorance.. I have posted on this a few times.. It will not stop all ignorance on the road but the commercials at would educate people to make them a little more aware.. But that is something that makes to much sence... using TV as a safety tool instead of marketing tool...

Commercials like that wouldn't happen because to air them at such a time where the intended message would reach as many people as possible would cost more than anyone would be willing to pay, assuming the station would even be willing to sell them air time.

I love to piss people off behind me and slow down to let trucks merge, change lanes, or pass. I'd rather have them mad at me than an 80,000 lbs. Anvil.

It's different when you've been there. Letting in a truck driver can totally change his outlook for the next few hours, and jeez- what do you really lose by slowing down your 4-wheeler for less than a minute.

I find once I'm out of the metro areas most 4 wheelers have enough sense get up or back-off.

It's just near the metro areas when they lose their brains and play "Beat the Truck".

And it's just not an L.A. thing as a lot of people claim. It's in every big town too.

Yup that what I did, if the person failed to make an atempt to turn their head and look (not looking in their little side mirror but actually turn their head) I did not get over.. An most who do turn their heads I didn't need to get over anyways because they knew what they was doing and adjusted their speed faster/slower to merge...

I seen this happen one time, there was this idiotic lady who would just sit right along the side of you, she would not let you over for nothing.. Then she would finally get passe you after 10 miles then sow down and make you pass here again.. you know the type when somebody passes them they speed up for a while then slow back down.. Anyways we was in a section were there was a cluster of truck all running together, we all was talking on the CB having a pretty good time that night.. Anyways this lady was next to this truck and a car came on and the truck could not get over cause of this chic, she had blocked the left lane so long she had a ton of traffic behind her, anyways the car merging ended up being a cop, the cop had to take the shoulder for a few sec lol, ended up pulling over that driver and yelled at him for a few minutes, could not give him a ticket because the cop was in the wrong and the cop was just abusing his power pulling the truck over in the first place..

That's the problem even cops don't know how to merge how do they expect the public to know....

Truckerjo, That figures! The cop should have pulled over the lady! I guess he expected the big truck driver to fly straight up for him. All the cop had to do was adjust his speed accordingly. But, we drivers are always in the wrong it seems.
