To 4whlrs: Is comfort more important than safety?

Im seeing this more and more. The passenger has their feet rested up on the dashboard like theyre lounging on a lawn chair. Obviously, theyre on a long trip and just trying to get comfortable, which I can understand. However, have you given any thought as to what would happen to you if you were in an accident? Obviously not. Let me inform you.
If its a high speed collision, get ready to go feet first through the windshield...if your not wearing your seatbelt. Youll have the pleasure of feeling a distinct 'tingling' as the glass cuts your skin open. If youre wearing your seatbelt, you might get lucky and have your chin catch the bottom part of the seatbelt(that goes across your lap) and keep you in the seat(unless you slip out from underneath it). If you stay in the vehicle and hit the dashboard with your butt, you might get folded in half. You will most likely snap your spine or crunch some other much needed bones. Either way, Im sure it will be painful. Now back to my original question...

They have not thought of what the airbags will do to them. We have to worry about them removing a head if they are not deployed on an accident scene. I would not want my legs in front of the air bags. They could not even think to move and the bag would be done.

not smart to say the least. last year i met a driver in a white truck with blue writing, approching a busy intersection with his left foot up on the dash. i was kind of shocked, how smart could he have been?

In all honesty, Ive never seen another driver prop their leg up on the dash. Though, I wouldnt doubt some doing it.
