Listen to Conservative talk radio. KSFO when I'm in San Fran area. If the T/S don't have many Star Wars audio books, I will buy audio books off of Barnes and Nobles website and then sell them on eBay or elsewhere when I'm done with them. Star Wars soundtracks just my $.02. Oh almost forgot the CB
So, what about the second month?

Seriously, being in the truck 200 hours might not seem like that much, but by the end of the month you'll hear how these talk show hosts lie through their teeth (or their opinions change rapidly with their sponsors), plus you'll know everything they're going to say. Add the Best of Sirius package to your XM subscription. Howard changes it up pretty good. I used to like Bob and Tom, and FM radio. The censorship of FM radio is unbelievable, and the interviews with Bob and Tom were always the same. But you do get 20+ minutes of commercials in an hour with FM, in case you need to fade your tattoo or buy a special back hair trimmer!

I gave up on radio entirely.. FM/AM whatever. Drove me nuts to shift from one station to another as I traveled - to find they have the same playlist, just 4 hours out of synch - so I end up listening to the same songs again (good or bad, I hate repetition). Heck, after the first month, I put my Cds away

Even Xm was too repetitious for me - on any given channel

Can't stand audio books - I'd much rather read them for myself, later, when the truck has stopped moving. About a book a day and I'm good.

the first year and i half, i just listened to whatever i could find on the radio. then i got a truck i knew i would be in for awhile and had a nice c.d. player installed and carried a box with about 100 c.d.s and got bored with those after about 6 months. then i became a talk show junkie. now i have an XM and listen mostly to talk shows, comedy, and the old time radio.

I agree that the entertainment can get old after a while, no matter what it is. I have XM and despite their 200 channels, I can't seem to stay tuned to anything for too long. I did finally figure out how to use a feature on my audiovox reciever which beeps when a favorite artist or comedian comes on. Only holds 20 names, but still is handy.

One thing that Im doing, although not so much now because of a lack of MP3 player is Podcasts. Im not sure if I mentioned this before or not. BUt there are TONS of podcasts out there through Apples website as well as podcast alley, just to name a couple. My wife is using the MP3 player on her walks, otherwise Id be listening to it everyday. Actually there are a handful of truckers with their own podcasts. The podcasts are better in a way because you choose what you want and unless its extremely boring, you are more likely to listen all the way through it.

It depends on the trucker. You seem to have the misconception that all truckers can be neatly stereotyped into the same genre when infact we are all completely different. You will never meet a more mixed crowd than in the trucking industry.
You will find anything from ex-military men/women, to ex-medical professionals driving trucks, to people who've grown up with fathers and grandfathers who drove trucks and want to carry on the legacy, to people who just want to travel and see the country. There are people who have retired, and decide to get their cdls and drive with their spouses as a team.
I could go on, and on...... what do you listen to? What does anyone listen to? It's all very wide and varied.
Btw, when I was with my trainer at Swift he listened to the song fergalicious over and over again...... as I was trying to sleep. He would repeatedly hit the replay button.

My BF listens to heavy metal, blues (which he got me hooked on), rennaisance music, audio books and Sirius radio. He has to have a daily dose of heavy metal and then its on to the other things.

Sirius Outlaw Country

Sirius Left-Lynn Samuels and Mike Malloy. At night I like ''Coast to Coast'' radio.

I don't listen to the truckers channel anymore. I get sick of hearing about re-tread tires.

Audiobooks.Tons of them.

Sirius #23, HAIR NATION!!

Nothing like Motley Crue, W.A.S.P, Judas Priest, Guns and Roses, and a little Skid Row to keep you hammering through a night run!

That is...when I'm not listening to the truck. A long downgrade in the mountains with the windows down and the jake singing is right at the top of the list too.
