The fact that you even asked this question this way meens that you should stay far FAR away from trucking. it's not IF but WHEN you get cought.

Oh, and the company can do a drug test anytime they have probelbel cause. Smoke from weed sticks to clothes and can be smelled from 10 feet away if you know what to smell for. You don't even have to smoke it. Just being in the same room as someone who is will put enough into your system to get busted.

You would have to be sitting in the car with Cheech and Chong to get a positive from second hand smoke. But really...who is going to be that close and not be tempted to toke? That one hit will trip you up for three days and make you smell like Cheech and Chong long enough to prompt a test! Miagi said it best... The best defence is no be there. Yeah Roscoe kinda lame there bud . But i'll help ya out cause i know how ya feel not that i would smoke pot or anything . I just know people who do ..mostly mechanics by the way . First thing you wanna do is goto the DOT website and its pretty much layed out there for ya .Gotta do some reading and searching around a bit but its all there in black and white . Federal laws man anything to do with trucks your gonna get randomly tested any accident any time you could be asked to make water . So you might wanna think about driving for a living . 2nd thing man if you are gonna smoke pot on occasion for whatever reason say you get 2 weeks off or something i dunno Don't tell anybody you work with about it ! Hell dont tell anybody . But goto the dot website they have an entire section on drug and alcohol testing . Any company within the GALAXY has to follow those rules and they list rules for owner operators as well . Good luck on whatever you decide to do .
