Its not that motorhomes feel safer with the other lane there, they just dont want you to pass them, as they dont want to be behind you is all, then they cant be the leader lol..

I know in some states it is illegal but do any of you flash your headlights to let the car in front of you know that you want to pass?

I find that annoying. Flashing the headlights means its okay to come over after you have passed, not as a signal that you are going to pass, although in a couple states you are required to flash your lights when passing someone, which I find annoying.
