But the key here is as he stated above that "I don't want to do weed anymore", and "I will not do weed anymore" which suggests he was still doing it at the time of testing and merely hoping that by using a lot of water he could come out negative. It may also be that all the water he drank prior to the test caused the test to come out diluted for specific gravity when the testing facility used the hygrometer/dip strip on the specimen as well as a low creatinine level. A diluted specimen is considered a positive/diluted under the rules however, and memory serve, there is/was an option for another test (or there used to be an option before I retired which may have changed) if a specimen was diluted and if the carrier so wished.

Either way, the S.A.P. route is his only option now as mandated in the rules and hope to find a company that has a second chance policy after he receives his CDL and the completion of the S.A.P. counseling and any potential recommendations by the S.A.P. for therapy as mandated under 382.503 and part 40, subpart O (40.281 through 40.313). This may also be a quite substantial amount money over and above the cost of obtaining his CDL as the company from whom he was attempting to receive his CDL also probably listed the positive on his USIS/DAC report.

I do however wish this gentleman success in finding suitable employment after the S.A.P. routine.

Hi Happy thanks for the support The test was a Urine Sample. Currently i am talking to someone at a Trucking School "Western Trucking School" It's going to cost me around $1000.00 bucks to get in but it gurantee's me getting my class A, I may not be able to start out as a Long Hauler but atleast i will be able to start out somewhere driving something! I'm hoping even with this mistake ive made that things will get better and hopefully just be a friendly reminder what "smoking pot" could of cost me !!

PSanderson..Yeah i didnt bother having them check my second sample because i new if 1 was dirty then of course the second one would be dirty.

But, i just got a call earlier from a local company that my best friend drives for and the gentlemen said he would like to be the first to offer me my "second chance" and give me a job driving for him ONCE i've completed the SAP. I`m thinking you have to wait 6 months after a positive drug test.You may check to see if its company policy or CDL policy.Traces of pot stay in your system longer than other drugs.If you were a long term heavy user you may be a year before you can be assured a clean test.Also,regardless of what everyone says,tests for marijuana do come back positive(occasionally) if you are taking certain prescribed antibiotics.When you test be sure you list ALL medications you are taking,prescribed or not.Good luck for your future.
