    thats how i do it , maybe the hot weather will help because it will seperate the good tires from the bad . i allso need 2 pick up a brake chamber, and alt.

    are you changing 18 wheeler tires on the side of the road? and you are using a manual tire iron? you are way more man than me. your huevos must be the size of grapefruits. do it the easy way. to run a quality business you have to have quality tools. you dont have to have new but an air compressor and an air ratchet sure beat a buggered back.

    LOL, I do have a air compressor , all new and yes i will do tires on the side of the road or anywhere i can get to them,i have 1" impac and bought a new tire iron and now i dont have 2 use my home made iron any more, every tire i sell ( if bills are caught up) i will buy a new tool.

    The other day I caught a blowout, took an hour to find someone.

    He charged $100 for the callout, 60 miles away, $25 to mount, and $75 for a used tire.

    I'll be honest at that price I wasn't expecting much but it was all he had.

    He showed up with a really good tire, I was surprised.

    Also he had contracted with a local shop to do their road calls.

    NOTHING!!!!    .....

    And no caps either........

    Running OTR on used or caps is asking for trouble....

    So your customers will be vocational truckers like those running short hauls from ports or dump trucks.....


    Used and caps seem to always have tendency (No matter how well maintained..) to blow on a Sunday...100 miles from the nearest town...... :biggrin_25510:

    I usually carry a spare but in this instance didn't have one.

    I bought a used to get home so my guy could put a new one that we run.
