I have to agree with being up front--I see a lot of ads that say--no felonies unless over--then some time period--seems to be 5-7 on average--but if you are trying to start fresh--and lie and do get caught and terminated--then what??? IMHO it isn't worth taking that chance--especially since like others have said you should be able to find a job--may not be the best--BUT it will get you started--work hard--keep your nose clean--you know the drill--stay couple of years--move on to something better

Yes, you can lie and yes you can get a job, but for any reason when an insurance underwritter decides to run checks on the drivers of a company they wish to determine risks on and finds this felony/s, you will not only be terminated without compensation, or pension, but you can lose your CDL license entirely. Believe it or not, lying on an application is fraud and illegal. A CDL is not something to risk losing over something as foolish as lying about a conviction.

When an insurance company finds a driver doing such a thing and their position is terminated, if any company tries to employ the liar felon and they have the same insurance company that driver will be met with a brick wall preventing them from employment.

Never risk your CDL or your civil freedom by lying on an application, no matter how many uneducated drivers out there have done so and gotten away with it. It only takes one audit to catch you red-handed. You would be surprised at how many over the road trucking companies share the same insurance agencies.

Our company requires an in-depth background check, including fingerprints as our drivers must possess at least a DOD "Confidential" or Secret rated clearance. We go back as far as high school and the background takes 3-4 weeks. ANY arrests for anything disqualify you. So much for "not being asked" in the tanker/hazmat business. I'm sure some bottom feeder freight hauler will be happy to have you, where you can contribute to the further decline of the trucking business.

Bulletproof that is a descrimitive comment if I've ever hears one. U have a man that's made a mistake trying to redeem himself to the world & u have the nerve to discourage him from working. I hope everyone can see that as an insult to any man. It's attitudes like urs that keep criminals under oppression. Is rather give a man a chance that knows how to correct wrongs, than a man who thinks his #### don't stink. What kind of bonus do u get for having a security clearance? Not a single penny.

    Other than employment, anyhow.

To the OP: If you don't mind me asking, what was the nature of your felony conviction? If you don't want to get into that, was it a federal felony, or was it a state level felony? If it was a state felony, but not a felony under the federal law, you can be eligible for what's called "relief of disability". However, if it's a federal felony, I'm afraid you'll find no such luck. Such a mechanism is in place, but receives zero funding, hence, it doesn't happen.

Yeah they got their time frame alright but still they are going to look at your application and compare it to 500 other applicants that have no criminal history. No offense but thats a nasty record, Good Luck!
