I really hope that this isn't the dumbest question ever to be. But here's the scenario and the bottom line. I'm a videographer and a filmmaker, but I am also independent and funds are extremely limited. This year I am starting a comedy web series and for a particular episode, I am hoping to get my hands on a very particular model telephone booth. I'm sorry if some of you are already scoffing, lol. I've been looking for over a year for this thing and I finally found it in Chillicothe, Ohio. Problem. I'm in New England, just north of Boston. What is the reality behind getting it here. Do any of you work for companies that would haul it? Or haul in on board with another order that's also going to Boston or somewhere in New England? I'm not asking for free, but in my limited knowledge sense...if you already COME HERE, maybe I could pay for the booth to hitch a ride. I apologize in advance if that's an ridiculous request.

    try this company...http://nemf.com/

their service area includes Ohio, and back here to New England, in fact, they have a terminal in North Reading, so a delivery to your front door can be made, OR you can go pick it up yourself..

You would need a bill of lading and shipping papers that include a seal number. It's not like we're driving pickup trucks and can just toss something extra in the back. (Although flatbed guys can get away with it because they don't have enclosed, sealed trailers.)
An LTL carrier like Roadway, Yellow, Con-Way, Estes, Old Dominion, etc. specialize in shipments like yours. Too big to mail it, but not an entire truckload. But rates will be pretty high. A phone booth can be laid over on it's side and hauled on a small trailer behind a car or in the back of a little tonka truck like a Ford Ranger. Maybe you can just go get it yourself on a weekend, if the gas is cheaper than the truck freight. (might be)
