I am in my first year back on the road since 2006 and I make much more then 600 a week..... I also work for one of those bigger training companies so am I seeing numbers that are not there on my pay check or am I just a person who makes more then most new drivers?

And to the OP's credit, he did the right thing by not signing on with a mega carrier while at school. There are still some good big carriers out there, but most of the good ones don't recruit from the driver mill schools either.
I started bumping with one of those training companies and left after 3 months for a real driving job with real money. I take home a little over a $1,000 a week after taxes and benefit deductions. -

I think it all depends of who you know and what they have to offer. 10 years ago when i got out of school i met a guy thru a friend that had few trucks in FedEx Ground and took me in finish all paperwork in a day did drug and med test the next day and on the 4th day i was in a truck driving team for the next 3 months and was making well over $1000. I was 21 at the time and $1000 was big money for me. I left FedEx and got a new job as a steel hauler in indiana driving local using a six axle trailer and was making as much as i wanted to, from $1000 up to $3300 which was my biggest paycheck ever in my life. I wish those days are back.
