Where to look for a job with 1 dui in 2009. 17 years accident free doubles/triples all weather experience. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I dont know if you will get many replys with this one as I think most insurance companys will pass on you as the dui wasnt that long ago. I would look at mom and pop operations and the oilfields unless you buy a truck, get your own authority and find an insurance company that will insure you. Good luck to ya

17 years and still drinking and driving?? No respect for your own bread and butter?

I doubt you'll find anything for 3 years. I would wait until then.

Check with small companies and owner ops in your area. They might be able to get you past insurance.

Maybe log trucking outfits or chippers. Something along those lines.

thank you to those who replied. I do wish I would have made different choices, but this is my reality now and I am doing my best to work with what I have. Anymore suggestion as to places that may be able to hire me are greatly appreciated.

Yes you are right Condo Cruiser. I did not respect my bread and butter. I took what I had for granted for sure and I am still paying the price. Hard lesson to learn for sure. Cost me my previous job of 17 years, respect, my wife and kids and my home.

What's the deal with people and DUIs lately?
I mean each week we see more and more of them.

This case is a bit different though. The OP has 17yrs experience and obviously
made a mistake - but it could cost him for at least 3 full years..

Mom and Pop company - best choice, if you can find one...

Thank you for your comments! The whole DUI thing is and has been a very humbling experience for me in many ways. I did not foresee the ripple effect of the choices I made at the time.

I know what you're going through. I screwed up in '02 and got one. It's still haunting me 9 years later. I get hired but insurance companies put me on probation for a year.
