I'm in the process of designing a trailer unit to be used for a mobile theatre. As it would typically be in place at each location for a number of years, I am thinking that we could design the unit to exceed the 8'-6" maximum allowable width for a trailer. We're thinking about either using a 10 or 12 foot width and then dealing with the oversize load regulations as they arise.

Does anyone know of an up-to-date website that has each States O/O permit and load requirements?

    Thanks.

They dont change too often, at least not in the past 10yrs or so.
Where do you plan on taking it, through what states?
10' is a kind of magic number. It allows night time travel and does away with curfews, in some states.
Where you will be going is going to play a big part in it though. If it isn't overweight, get annuals for it.

Also keep in mind during the summer there is a lot of construction zones with limited with and you need to address that issue along with the usuall regulations and manuverability issues

also keep in mind that no 2 states are the same, do your research for every state you plan to travel through. I been fighting Kentucky all year just to move hay that i bought for my own farm use. They won't allow any hay to be hauled as oversize and i have a DOT that keeps my little county road hot, they even have told me that all county roads in Ky are 8ft limit and i can't take my truck to my office location and shop, they can kiss my back side.
