Why does my turn signal indicate to you that flooring your car is in order?

    People just don't get it, I'm not asking for permission, just letting you know there's about to be a wall in front of you... do you fancy running into walls or something? Why not change lanes too? It's fun.

    Oh, and this isn't a rant, I'm not the one getting all emotional here. It's a question to the general public from a repeat offender of following the law (and I'd like to get paid not to cut you off, probably more so than an officer would like to be paid not to ticket you).

    I totally agree. I don't wait anymore, if I want over I'll turn on my signal as soon as I start moving over. People seem to think your turn signal means to speed up. My question is, if they don't want to be behind a big truck, why weren't they driving faster? This question may only apply to governed truck drivers though

    They're like those non engagers in the background of karate movies, who come at you with a pathetic attack one at a time... oh look, it's kung foo driver, knocking themself out again. Strange but true (we must be doing aikido, or something, like sumo vs midget wrestling).

    I know it. It's like they are thinking that their tinny little cars are going to stop an 80,000 truck from changing lanes simply by gassing on it. It's just amazing.

    Ok, I'll play devil/s advocate ...

    There is a fine line between when a car is too close and when the car is far enough back. Speaking for myself, if a car is too close then I fault myself for not thinking far enough ahead, and the car wins. But I also appreciate that if a car see's I'm going to be needing out sooner, rather then later, they accelerate to clear me and make a hole for me to get out. Honestly, I don't see this happening much as the OP puts it bus in as much as these sorts of situations do occur, many car drivers are meandering down the roadways at varying pace, and same for many truckers. It's part of the job and it's part of life, deal with it.

    Just make sure your "in the right" and driving courteously and non-aggressively before you go to asserting yourself is all I will say about the matter. A heavy truck and it's driver does not like to lose momentum, I get that, but if it does, it should not ruin the entire rest of your day and cause you to become some sort of vigilante trucker as a part-time job.

    Duel? It isn't that. Why taunt? How people pretend it's mutual deterrence, though, would be like me threatening to run over a military tank (slightly ridiculous). I typically think in terms of worst case scenarios (nothing to do with warfare out there, aside from such cliches, to illustrate a point, well then it's a cliche, no matter what I say), and most drivers seem to be hoping for the best, or driving like they always do without really thinking about it, the results of our actions speak for themselves (of course, bad driving can only happen to someone else, talk about false bravado). Have fun with that. I'm humoring myself with this (terrible trucking).

    Cars do it even trks because they don't have the patience waiting for the trk with the signal on to get over and also when the lane changes to one lane only the motoring public don't have the patience to be in back of a semi.It really depends what part of the country you're driving in.Some states couldn't be more courteous then other states don't know what that means.

    Anyway I saw an accident today, looks like someone sped up at the wrong time, and that's all she wrote.
