A few days ago while driving home from work I work 5:30pm to5:30am. So not much traffic on the interstate yet while heading home from work seen 2 truckers side by side on I-65 a few miles ahead of me. I had cruise set at 72 or 73 anyway a few minutes latter I behind the trucker who has been trying to pass for several miles. They are going back and forth the one right lane might get ahead by a few feet then the one in the left gets a few feet anyway after a couple of miles of this with me behind them. I hit the flash to pass to the left lane trucker we go a couple more miles then I hit the flash to pass again as we were going along about 65 in a 70. The second time I hit the flash to pass the trucker in the left lane slams on his brakes which caught me a little off guard but was far enough back to have plenty of room to hit my brakes for the truckers actions then after the right lane truck cleared. Instead of going to the right he slammed his brakes an second time before moving over. That was totally uncalled for don't know if he was trying to force me into tacking evasive action by going into the right lane then slam me with the trailer or then force me onto the shoulder type of thing or what. I wasn't expecting a second slamming on of the brakes or the first one for that matter but predicted he would slow down but not the way he did the first time.
Trucker tried to wreck me the other day

He was an idiot for staying beside the truck on the right in the first place. He should have backed off and merged right. If it was me in the right lane, I would have backed off and let the idiot in the left go past instead of holding up traffic. So, maybe it was to headstrong idiots you came across. I'm sorry this happened to you.

Next time something like that happens, as you are blocked (or whatever the circumstances), be prepared by having the company name and truck/trailer number handy. It may have been inadvisable to flash the driver, but his reaction is still inexcusable. At that point, you will be prepared to call the driver in to his company. If nothing happens, then you can disregard the info you have on him.

In the OP's case, it might have been a matter where the truck in the left lane who couldn't go fast enough to pass and the truck in the right lane was too much of a jerk to offer any assistance ... the passing truck might have wanted to decelerate to move in behind the truck but the car (also losing patience) was so close the truck did not feel he could safely slow to move over without some dumb 4-wheeler rear-ending him. (Drivers do not have time to deal with accidents wether they're in the clear or not)
Plenty of blame to go around it seems on at least 3 driver's parts. Patience Grasshopper. -

I cannot believe how many of you are giving the driver a pass. There is never, and I mean never an excuse to brake check someone. Flash the brake lights at them, but attempt to cause harm with a brake check is totally inexcuseable. SMH
AfterShock, JReding, chopper23966 and 4 others Thank this.
