I am doing some research for a class project and would like your help answering some questions.

Do Insurance Providers have any relationships with OEM's? If they do who are they and with whom? How do those work?

Hello - My name is Ashley and I am doing some research on the insurance side for crash/collisions for Heavy Duty vehicles for my college class. I was hoping some of you could help answer a few of my questions that I have. I have posted them below and a response to one or all would be great.

    1. As a driver what do you care most about when it comes to an insurance agency/coverage? Specifically what are you interested in that relates to collisions/crashes?

    2. What are items that you compare when shopping around for insurance?

    3. When you are in a collision/crash do you have a choice on where to repair your truck or does the insurance company decide?

    4. When in a collision/crash how does the process work with your insurance agency/coverage? Do they have to come evaluate the damage and then give you a certain amount to fix the vehicle or do you go to a shop and have them estimate and send it in to the agency?

    5. How does insurance differ between Owner-Operators and Fleets?

    6. What are the requirements on having insurance? Are you required to be covered for crash/collision?

    7. What would you say an average cost of insurance is for a heavy-duty vehicle?

    8. How does a driver's health correlate back to their insurance coverage?

Again -- thank you for your help on answering these. Any bit of information will be extremely helpful to me.

    Thanks
    Ashley
