Well let me put it simple my average shows me $41000 more then your average which could mean the difference if I'm in business next yr. Obama care has increased cost, fuel spikes have increased cost, new egr dpf def increase cost about .25 mi including maintenance and downtime. If you run your truck 52 weeks a yr it will only work about 40-44 at best with downtime and driver hometime. Build your business by not being the cheapest carrier out there and if your gonna do it cheaper think if you had a customer for years and you got a fair rate out of there say 1.85mi but they gave u this for all year then some idiot comes in and says I'll do it for 1.5mile cause they read numbers and think this will work at this rate. Guess what your wrong the guy with newer fmv lease trucks can't compete now cause his cost is too high and he can't keep his doors open for any less but Mr new guy has a 1989 century costing maybe $5000. Grow up this is a business ask around and see what other people are getting out of certain areas or what they used to get. There's one way to better income people and that's together I've personally learned this through brokers and direct shippers, logistics etc. I think I have a good business mind but some people just see this as a numbers game.
