i believe its 500 for a 48' for 48x48 if its 40x48 you can fit another 40 on.
-
Asumming no or very little overhang
standard 40x48 wood
24 strait
26 pinwheeled
28 double sidewaysmje Thanks this. -

I believe he was talking about stacking floor to ceiling? Just pallets? I have no idea..and yes 48 footers still exist.. Ugh
-
its 24 pallets for a 53 footer, so 20-22 pallets for 48 footer...?
-
25 in a 48 foot reefer trailer.
-
I just had 570 CHEP pallets put into a 53' van. You can take off two rows of 38 (stacks of 19) to make a 48' van.
So you should see 494 (570-76).Elvenhome21 and dog-c Thank this. -
I've noticed that good condition 48's are getting popular with guys who run CA all the sudden...Railroad lobbyists have clout.
OP-
It depends on the pallets, and the overhang, but I can tell you from experience (we still have at least nine 48'ers) that anything heavy will almost always fit, but shippers dont always know that, and brokers almost NEVER know that. I look at the breakdown of the load and make my own determination. -
