There is a difference between a produce broker and a produce truck broker. A produce broker handles produce sales from farmer to market. A produce truck broker supplies the trucking transportation to move the product from farmer to market.
Your best bet is to locate a Produce Blue Book. It will list the shippers, buyers, truckers, farmers, everyone involved with the marketing / shipping of produce. It will also give their credit rating, how quick they pay, business practices, areas & size of operation, etc.
Hauling produce is often called a rolling crap game. Can be great, can be a disaster.

CH Robinson: humph, I need enuff profit to dedicate to "preventive" maint...not brake-down maint.

Brokers: what area's are you working?

This one will strengthen your profit margin: Mike BenBen . They "buy" produce, ask to get setup with them, to recvg e-mail load lists. (produce: out of wisc, Colo, NM, Tx, limited Va.)

K&B Trucking... adele, ga. (melons-they r the sole broker for "melons east"...you'll need to do work here, afterwards, you'll find Roger @ $3.per mile.)

BRAD JOHNSON / Black Gold Farms/ Transportation & Sales Representative-
(major producer of potatos. Tell them where/whom referred you to them and why ur calling. be specific, & they'll be friendly.

Brokers: whom I like personally...im thinking...
