Started orientation with WFE today, and got the sweet surprise that I was going on the reefer fleet! So far, I must say that this is the most laid back down to Earth company that I have ever worked for. Everybody is very easygoing, and happy to answer any questions. Pay is average, but reefer pays $.03cpm more than the dry van side. The health benefits are the cheapest I have ever seen at $15/wk for the 1st year, and free after that.
I update this when I can! Have fun

I'll be tuned in

Got out of orientation. They gave me a temporary truck until they get their order of 60 new Freightliners in...so in the meantime, I have a 2012 International Prostar. I must say, that it's not bad at all...although the engine brake sucks and it can't pull a hill. I had 2 loads backed up on me before I even finished orientation and was assigned a truck if that tells you how much freight they have. I'm on my way to Ohio, and then down to FL to grab my stuff.
-
The real test will be how long it takes them to get you a load out of FL! At least you live there. Good luck!
-
By the time next Wed. rolls around, I'll have 3300 miles for the week...and that's with 1 1/2 days at the house...
Until next time!! -
Just a quick update: Delivered my load in Denton this morning and grabbed a quick load to OKC that delivers tonight. Tomorrow, I pick up a 3 dropper that finals in VA Sunday am. After that, I'll either load out Sunday or Monday am for a turn out to the left coast.
Total miles for my 1st week: 3592 including a 34 hour restart. -
How do they pay mileage, is it practical or shortest route?
-
Practical, but you must follow their routing, or they will charge you for out of route miles. Their routing is usually common sense though, and I've only had 1 load where I called my dm to change the route...which wasn't an issue.

Real quick update before I hit the sack. After, I emptied out in VA, I turned around with a load into Dallas and then another short hopper to Ardomore because my apu quit working. Since it's under waranty, it had to come back to the shop. While here, I went ahead and grabbed a 34. Tomorrow, I pick up a load going to Linden, NJ, the from Jersey City to Indy, and then Indy to Eugene, OR. Next week is gonna kick my ###. A little over 4400 planned miles on e logs. We'll see if I can do it!!
Until Next Time!Dinomite Thanks this. -
Good stuff
