Company driver?
And Owner Operator?
Are you just in deep do doo or what's the procedure?
What if it can't be fixed on the road due to circumstances?
As an O/O would your insurance cover the load?
what happens if your reefer breaks down while you're loaded?

Even when they break There is several hours of cold still inside the unitfreightwipper, silenteagle and Tobytob Thank this. -
You keep up on it, and get it working again as soon as possible, Thermo-king usually will give preference to loaded over empty for repairs.
The box will keep it cool, or from freezing in mild weather for awhile, in extremes, it becomes more problematic. Temp sensitive produce I would worry about the most, then frozen stuff like ice cream, which I've never hauled, BTW, but it is touchy about getting too close to freezing.
There are other things, but mostly, like I said, get it working again asap.freightwipper Thanks this. -

I was a o/o leased to a company. .I had 40k if crab salad on the trailer. . Its been awhile but I think the reefer was supposed to be set at 40 degrees.. the reefer broke down 1, 000 miles from the receiver.
I qcommed the company and was instructed to keep rolling and get to the company yard. I broke every hos rule. . And made it to kc with the reefer showing 52 deg..
I was sitting in the driver break room when the owner walked in. . Came over and shook my hand thanking me. .
They fixed the reefer. . Cooled the product and delivered it to the caves down by Joplin Mo.
Needless to say, I didn't buy crab salad for awhile.spectacle13, SteelWheel, truckerdave17 and 6 others Thank this. -

In most cities there are warehouses that do trailer transfers. They will transfer the load out and store while you get it fixed, or to another trailer. This cost some $$$$$ though and most companies will try to avoid this. It is out there though.
