    252 cases of "select" cucumbers

    720 cases of zucchini

    320 cases of yellow squash

24 pallets total, sounds to me like it will be awful heavy, if not overweight.

I would guess 45,200lbs. I do know exactly how much energy is required to get it there.

Nice. Then after they finally overload me late tonight they will close, I'll go scale and be stuck with it. If its under 45200 I can at least work with it.

Last place that overloaded me and closed, I parked the truck in front of their gate. They had to talk to me before they could go to work.

Hi l_l, IDK, why isn't there a weight on the bill? I wouldn't sign for any "mystery" load I didn't know what the weight was. As a maybe, being it's 24 pallets, I'd guess it's not overly heavy. I used to haul cheese that was 2,200 lbs/ pallet, and 20 pallets was 44,000 lbs., but you never know.

at 1st glance you would expect it to be heavy--but unless they are using abnormal packaging--it won't be--simply put--using the heavy sides of the table
    cucumbers=50lbs bushel
    zucchini---=40
    yellow squash=44
and since standard produce shipping containers are typically 4/5 of a bushel

    cukes--252x40=10,080
    zucchini 720x32=23,040
    squash--320X35.2=11,264
Total should be just shy of 45K on white wood.......
produce buyers are pretty savvy about weights--especially since most produce is bought sold by the bushel--w/accepted industry standard weights and shipping containers....
This is not to say they don't ship heavy(they do-w/certain product)--depending on your equipment--this load may be tight--but should be managable...and Im guessing it was listed in this order--because in order to axle it--(or try to--24 plts straight in)cukes in the nose and so on--would probably work best.....

This link to ag extension from University of Ga is a pretty good reference--but there are others--
    Hope it helps

I had 2 p/ups, it would be hard to blame one shipper over the other.

Bottom line,,,if you are over-weight, you don't go anywhere but back to where you got loaded. Don't let the company or anyone push you into taking that load anywhere but, back to the shipper. Don't sweat it, keep this as your motto and nothing to stress about, you are following the law and protecting your CDL
