It has 13k hrs but the sales man told me that they only cool to 0 not below any one have one that can give insite?
Are they good or too small majority would be dairy that not a prob. But I know it prob won't do icecream how about other frozen? Thanks

If it only cools to 0, it may be setup for produce or fresh meat. I ve pulled a Carrier Ultima XTC, It never had a problem getting below -10. There s been times I ve got loaded and did a manual defrost, got paperwork, check out with guard and reefer reach -10 before I got to truckstop 4 miles away

    Too many variables...not enough info.....

are you being told it Can't b set below 0? Or they cannot get it colder than zero? Big difference.....and most ANY refer will discharge well below zero.....BUT depending what type/shape the trailer is in....itll Never get close....get some more info....then maybe we can help

The salesman said the extra is a smaller unit than the ultima and not designed to operate under 0. He said the Altima will run to -20. From what he told me this was a produce trailer from new so can they be programmed different? It's a nice looking trailer and most days will not need it sub zero but sometimes u need to back haul what u can. I will be talking to the sales man today maybe I can get some clarity.

Well there are 3-4 diff models named extra...extra xt...etc.....so I'm guessing this one has a smaller compressor...therefore will not cool as far.....but couple of quick red flags if it was ONLY used as a produce trailer....13k on an 11year old unit? Produce is run on continuos....so unless it was only used locally part time I'd be wary...so find out...if at all possible WHAT/WHO had it first&If that's the original unit.....
Also because an 11 y/old icebox used regularly the insulation is probably all but rotted behind the chemlite&if used in lots of whse forklift situations......the floor(&no real way to tell)could be all but done.....so take a real good look at all the crossmembers....lets us know

I was thinking of the floor already the company I haul for now runs local freight they have 4reefers and two have floors that are shot. Did not really think about hrs vrs. Year on produce I remember that when I hauled produce we ran units all the time but when I was looking At this I was just thinking hrs. Seemed low as a good thing but you may have got the salesman in a lie witch they never do. I will look into that that's why I asked people know more than me sometimes. I owed a truck for 15 years and ran reefer most of that but this is first trailer I will buy.
