Just bought a great dane reefer trailer and after hooking it up, it's 13' 11"! Took to Peterbilt, adjusted ride height, bought 22.5 wheels and just don't know what the best size tires to purchase!!!

Over height and wondering what I can do to get legal 13' 6"... Thanks

If you have low profile 24.5 tires, the 11R22.5 are going to be the same height as the lp 24.5s. To drop the amount you need you would probably need to go from tall 24.5 tires to lp 22.4 tires.

Take a look at your 5th wheel with the trailer hooked and see how much room in between the tires and bottom of the trailer. It would much cheaper to buy a shorter 5th wheel than new tires and wheels, or you may have to do both if one way doesn't get you down to height.

what is your 5th wheel deck height?

how tall is your trailer measuring on the outside from the roof to where the 5th wheel slides under?

    welcome to the forum.

I have the lowest 5th wheel you can get @ 6.75". I understand the 24.5 to 22.5 tire heights but still cannot seem to get to 13'6" with the lp 22.5 tires. Measurement from the ground to the top of the 24.5 tire = 44" and the 275/70/22.5 measures 37"
    44-37 = 7/2 = 3.5" which means I am still at 13' 7.5"

Your 5th wheel probably has high mount for platform trailers or tankers.

You have regular Pete air ride. I hooked to one a few years back and was 13' 10". Ohio turnpike will not let you get on, California stopped me on scales measured me and asked what year my truck was and away I went. Other than that I never had problems. Your only solution now is changing air ride. Pete low air will drop you about 3.5".
