Loaded a load of clementines from the area of fresno to deliver to Costco in mira loma,ca. Load was picked up Saturday and was scheduled to deliver Sunday but their was no appointment and broker later made appointment to deliver on Tuesday. Tuesday load rejected due to soft fruit and wet boxes. Load is still in the trailer and running at 45 continuous, and CH robinson the broker does not know nothing yet. The day after load was rejected the rep told me to take it to a shop and check the reefer to get prove that it was working properly and I already send them the inspection on the reefer. Load is going to be 6 days I. Reefer and they still don't have an answer. This is the first time this happens and I do not know what to do. Any advice thanks

you should notify brocker emideatly they might try to find different buyer, otherwise insurance claim. and hope you had all service records on reefer. you should have temp recorder.

The broker knows already they told me to wait to find out what the customer says.

Why are the boxes wet? Did you allow them to load wet boxes? Or did the trailer temp go up, get humid and then cool down?

sometimes if you load warm fruit vegies reefer unit will go to defrost mode every 5 minutes and not be able to keep the right temp. happened to me with potatoes, lucky potatoes are not that fragile and didn't have problems with receiver.

Only a few things that will saturate a box and most of them fall on the truck.

I think what happen was the soft fruit ruined the boxes. The boxes are not wet they just are a little humid. Costco is very strict on their product and they wrote on BOL that they were wet. The thing is that day the product was rejected I got inside the trailer and their was soft and some hard product. The reefer was running fine. Also the broker told me to get a reefer download but the engine on the reefer is a 2010 and the model is a 96 so the screen on the temp is the old style and was told a download could not be done.

Just got told by broker to take load to shipper.
Broker told me this Still undetermined if it’s a claim or not. They want to help you by looking at it and will probably take a good amount of it back if it’s good but they need to look at it first.
