Well the day has come! A dairy that has been around since 1880 (Sinton Dairy) is no longer going to process fluid milk. I'm sad to see it go, This company is owned by a Mexican company LaLa and goes by Borden Dairy but when they bid a Walmart contract at a price lower price then it cost to produce a gallon of milk what do you expect. Walmart chewed them up and spit them out. The drivers that have stayed around have lots of resentment and as one of them I don't blame them. We work hard unloading multiple trailers, driving Colorado, putting up with Walmart receivers I can go on but you get it. God Bless the guys who Deliver Milk also known as " MILKMAN"

Walmart will do that. Killing competition until there's nothing left. They'd love a store with Great Value products only. Don't worry. This is going to blow up for Walmart. And it's gonna be messy.

they are still going to produce fluid milk, just not fresh. They will be retooling to produce shelf stable fluid milk.

Reading between the lines, this is a wage reduction, union busting move by the parent company. Cant afford those high wages, and sell to walmart.

I'm not a big fan of the union and wages inside the plant make it hard to sell to walmart but Dean foods is making it work. Borden Going from 150 employees to 30-40 is big. Going from 11-13 tankers a day to 2 not much of a dairy. As a driver I'm not worried about finding a job but the guys in the plant different story they just got retooled.

This throws a wrench in my program too. As an o/o, I've been hauling milk to US Foods from Sinton for 2 years now. Not much freight coming out of Colorado Springs on a daily basis like this was. This is going to suck!!
