nellies? What's a nellie? I had an Aunt Nellie and she was really a sweet person. She and Aunt Rose were told they were going to hell for watching wrestling. (back in the 60's) It was fun to stay at their house where we had tea & cookies and watched wrestling while sitting on white wicker furniture and wearing our sunday dresses. *note they were widowed sisters*

I can see calling lying, stealing, killing a sin, as those are all choices one makes, but how can you call someones sexual orientation a sin? as a straight guy, I don't choose to be attracted to women, I just am, but somehow that is one less sin to worry about? where is the rationale in that?

Weirder stuff has been found in nature. Parthenogenesis. Hermaphrodites. Cross dressing giant cuttlefish. Nature seems to have a sick sense of humor.

unlucky for hermaphrodites; they sin no matter which way they choose! a big thumbs up to god for that one.

this of course leaves us with a question. if people are born to be homosexual or are born a hermaphrodite, what does that say of his 'perfect' creation? no, can't possibly be a mistake, let's call it a sin!

Jesus is silent on the issue. To me, that is the most important theological point that He could have made.

Paul seems to have an issue with homosexuality, but there are a lot of things that Paul says to do that we Christians don't do. We aren't followers of Paul.

The Old Testament seems to have major issues with homosexuality, but there are a lot of things that the Old Testament says to do that we Christians don't do. We aren't followers of the Old Testament.

If Jesus can remain silent on the issue, then it can't be that central of a point to Him. Therefore, it is not an important point to me. I will be concerned with the sanctity of my marriage and my fidelity to my wife and family and leave it at that.

I think that when the whole of our being is greater than the sum of our parts we are fine. What I mean by that is, I am a lesbian, that is only a part of my being, I have many friends, male, female, gsy, straight and bi. I do not believe I will be (or am now) judged only on my being a lesbian. So for example; myself and another lesbian who also happens to be a lesbian separatist, I don't believe we will be judged the same because we are both lesbians.
I strongly believe that we are to evolve and grow as human beings, we are to become more loving than hateful, more forgiving than resentful, more selfless than selfish.

My being a lesbian, I believe, is a result of both nature and nurture.

What I would really like to know is where does a cross dressing cuttlefish shop? I am going to stop by that big Cabela's outside Mnpls and check out their cuttlefish wear.

***Disclaimer*** I have never studied the Bible or Christianity, so I am unqualified to say anything on that subject.

However, I have known of (not personally, but through literature and the Internet) too many teenagers and young adults who have very strong homosexual feelings and are being told by their church that those feelings are wrong and sinful and they must fight those feelings and never act on them or the devil will get them and they will go to Hell. The numbers of homosexual youth commiting suicide are saddening. Yes, this is a touchy issue and tempers can run high, but we need to be very careful how we talk to our youth about this. Giving them the choice between spending their entire life alone or going to Hell when they die isn't really going to help a confused teenager.

it helps christians feel better about themselves, though, and that's what is important.

I have seen this when I was younger there was a young man in my grandmothers church named Richard who was just a flaming gay man I watched them pray and preform exorcisms on and end the end he did just that and it was a real sham as he was a very gentle soul wracked by guilt of his very nature that conflicted with his beliefs
