Thanks for the welcome.I understand that there are certain things with every job,but my point was that-IN THIS INDUSTRY(I think that you did a good job describing it) that it would be nice to not be "looking over my shoulder" - watching for the company- especially with all of the other stuff that I need to be looking over my shoulder for.It would be nice to work for a company that has some type of support for their drivers,and not the opposite of that.
The latest reason to question This company's feelings for its drivers is a new process that they put in place and threatened us about:
all of the driver managers are now comparing indivdual logs to satellite printouts of each truck-they are looking for any log screw ups....and threatening punishment("that is a very serious offense") for any log violations.Well obviously I don't want to seem like I think that it's okay to screw with logs,but-there are times when things happen.Now when I think of all the negative energy-the manpower- this company is putting into this project in finding reasons to punish their drivers-well I have to wonder why so much manpower is being wasted on something that is so negative and so bad for the morale of a driver.
A funny story-this new driver scratched a trailer on a Container at a yard and eventually called it in as an accident-it was about,50 to 100 dollars damage.Myslef and another driver told him to just forget about it-most of the trailers have those minor scratches,but for some reason he did not-he called swift and he reported it.I saw him at a stop a few days later and we were talking-and he says to me-"I should of listened to you,I now have to take a safety class and they put AN ACCIDENT on my driver record."

My vote is for all the above. See what happens when the govt. gets involved no more govt. subsidies for the mega carriers!

I worked for Swift.I was harassed out of my job and my company driving record was ruined.I was conspired against from California to Connecticut.You people want to hear my story?I'm talking crooked cops,attorneys,1 judge,multiple setup attempts;we're talking grand conspiracy here and there's not a thing I can do about it except tell you people.

More specifics, please! Lots of drivers who have been let go by carriers or who have quit carriers come on the forum, blast away, and then we hear nothing further from them. What can you tell us, that can be useful, about what, specifically, happened?

not much choice to pick from is there? i wanted to pick werner and swift. at the rate they are going. too many wanna bees, that know or think they know everything. it took me 34 years to know what i know, and i still dont know everything!
